If you have had enough of the hot and humid lowland areas and you are not a beach/pool person but love fresh mountain air it will be easy to spend a week at us and in our region.

We usually suggest to spend a day or so in our garden and forest around and then next day discover a bit further area with a short drive out. Later on we can go further as well, from our place at 2750 meters or 9000 feet it is easy to go down to 2000 meters or drive up to Cerro de la Muerte which is around 3500 meters, above the tree-line with paramo vegetation and some unique species. Both areas can be reached within less than half an hour.

But it is also possible to venture out for longer distances. From us within 1-1,5 hours we can be at middle-elevation foothills or with 1,5-2 hours we can be at Lowland Tropical Rainforests of the Pacific Region. This, combined with seasides, river estuaries, mangroves are the richest habitats in species.
