Mammals generally not so easy to encounter like birds and they are not so abundant either especially at the high elevation where we live. But both at our area and other parts of Costa Rica we know where to go and how to find certain species.

At Pacific slope mid-elevations and lowland tropical rainforests there are several mammal species which are easier to see. There is a really good chance to observe and photograph coatis, agoutis, peccaries, different monkeys, 2 species of sloths. There are some which of course much more difficult like Jaguar, Ocelot, Puma, Coyote and other cat species, as well as Baird's Tapirs.

There are plenty of smaller mammals around as well. With different day-long outings or longer expeditions you can look for other species, including Dolphin or Whale watching as well.
