Mammals at Toucan Ecolodge and wildlife reserve

Costa Rica has about 240 species of mammals, that is about 6% of the world’s mammals species. And from this about half are bats about 109 species which actually means 12% of the world's bats. Quite amazing.
There are mammals species which are easier to see and we have good chance to observe them, like coatis, agoutis, peccaries, monkeys, sloths and some that are much more difficult like jaguar, ocelot and other cat species, as well as tapirs. But at some parts of Costa Rica there is more chance to see these incredible animals..

At Toucan Birding Ecolodge and Willdife Reserve we don;t have yet a specific number of species seen. We try to put a list together of the seen species, but still need to work on it. We got a list below, which we made by the help of the former owner and what she and guests and also what we have seen already. So, see the list below, but note, that this is just part of what we have around.
